AMNews: Motorola Xoom 2 Media Edition, Windows 8 Final Build Screenshots, Nintendo 3DS Letter Box, Oracle 11g

Motorola has released the Xoom 2 Media Edition tablet in the UK; which is available from a host of retailers for £329.99. The company, which is on the verge of being acquired by Google, hopes that a smaller screen and $50 less than the original Xoom will make an impact on the market.

It was only two weeks ago that Microsoft announced the public beta of its forthcoming OS platform Windows 8 would be made available during February 2012. And now, a new batch of leaked screenshots has surfaced that gives people a better idea of how the Windows 7 successor is supposed to look in its final build.

Nintendo's 3DS messenger service known as Letter Box, is set to land on the 22nd of December, bringing with it message sending and picture sharing. The download is free for all 3DS owners and lets you connect with friends through other applications like StreetPass and Spotpass.

Nokia is sending out press invitations for a press event taking place during the CES, which is to be held at the convention center in Las Vegas. Apparently, it seems the mobile manufacturer is planning to arrange a presentation on January 9 - just a day before the forthcoming edition of the CES is scheduled to start.

Last week, Oracle announced the release of Oracle Tuxedo 11g, an application aimed at COBOL, C/C++ and other dynamic languages. Oracle claims the new release was developed primarily to run on the Oracle Exalogic Elastic Cloud X2-2.
