Former HP chief technology officer Shane Robinson has joined the board of directors at Fusion-io, a data centre storage memory manufacturer.
The company said Robinson will be a part of the Board's Audit Committee and Nominating and Corporate Governance Committee, as reported by CRN.
Robinson was HP's chief strategy and technology officer from May 2002 until he retired in November 2011.
He also served as senior vice president and Chief Strategy and Technology Officer at Compaq before the company was acquired by HP. Robinson, in a career which spans 30 years in the Silicon Valley, also served as president of Internet Technology and Development at AT&T Labs.
"Shane brings significant expertise and experience to our already very strong board, and in addition to helping us to refine our cloud and R&D strategies, Shane will help us deepen our relationships with server systems vendors and other technology leaders," said David Flynn, Chairman and CEO of Fusion-io.
"I believe his experience in both corporate and R&D strategy will provide powerful guidance as we continue to grow our business globally with technologies that help our customers' through innovative and efficient data solutions," he said.
