Millions of Brits Expected To Flock Stores on Boxing Day Sales

Millions of Britons are expected to flock retail stores across the company to avail the Boxing Day sales offers.

According to The Press Association, retailers all over the UK have been preparing for a huge Boxing Day rush, with popular stores like Next opening shops as early as six AM.

A research carried out by Green Flag revealed that an estimated 5.6 million drivers will move out on Boxing Day to avail the best deals that the retailers have to offer.

The research found that 21 per cent of Britons planned to shop more for the Christmas holiday season on Boxing Day while 6 per cent had decided to do their Christmas shopping on Boxing Day in order to save money.

"We expect Boxing Day to be another busy day as shoppers hit the high street to take advantage of the post-Christmas sales. If the last few weeks have been anything to go by, we expect to see the centre remain busy well into the sales and New Year period." said Ryan Manson, general manager for Union Square shopping centre.

The shopping centre, located in Aberdeen, reported a 32 per cent rise in customer footfalls in the week leading to Christmas Day.
