Muppets Promote Google+ Through Hangouts Commercial

Google has launched a new Google+ ad campaign featuring The Muppets singing a popular classic rock number on Google + Hangouts.

In the ad, the Muppets are seen jamming to the popular Queen and David Bowie song, ‘Under Pressure'. The characters, created by Jim Henson, have been used to promote the Google+ Hangouts video conferencing feature.

Google is not new to partnering with the Muppets, having already collaborated with The Jim Henson Company to create a special doodle to mark Henson's 75th birthday. The doodle featured some of the most popular Muppets characters forming the Google logo, with users being able to do some digital puppetry of their own using the mouse.

The company has launched a massive campaign to promote Google + among the masses. Google has already collaborated with celebrity heavyweights Lady Gaga and Justin Bieber on previous campaigns.

Google has a massive task of taking users away from Facebook, which has more than 800 million users worldwide and continues to be the most searched term on Google. The company is using its online might to integrate Google+ into users' web experience, offering social networking integration with virtually all of its web properties.
