Battle Duty: Modern Field 3 iOS Game Released

With a basic description and a clearly silly name, a game lampooning both Modern Warfare 3 and Battlefield 3 has been released on the Apple app store.

Known as Battle Duty: Modern Field 3, the game features as a menu screen, a cross section of both game's title screens with a troll face pasted over the titular character. The other screenshots on the official page shows some static images which have enemies randomly appearing: you click, they die.

Players look like they'll have a choice of weaponry dependent on the level they're on, with pistols, assault rifles and more. Health points are listed, as well as ammo, suggesting reloads will be necessary, but when there's at least a clip packing 45 rounds, you probably won't have to do it much.

The description for the title is quite simple: "2012, not getting this gaem, ISHYGDDT" (I seriously hope you guys don't do this). Combined with the trolling home page image, it seems obvious that this is a jokey game, however reviews so far aren't too bad. The current average rating is two out of five stars after 42 ratings.

Some of the reviews showing up so far include the 5 star "hmmm: Seems legit" as well as the three star "good: I would buy it! It is great, but it is more money than it's worth". At 99 cents though, it's hardly expensive.

This game is currently available on iPhone 3GS, 4, 4s, iPod touch 3rd, 4th and the iPad. It requires iOS 3.2 or later.
