Amazon has cut the price of the Toshiba AT100-100 10-inch Android tablet to £280, a £100 discount from its original selling price.
The AT100 is thinner than the iPad 2 and comes, like most other Android tablets, with an Nvidia Tegra 2 system on chip clocked at 1GHz, 1GB RAM and a 10.1-inch 1280x800 pixel display.
It is powered by Android 3.2 Honeycomb and should, in theory, be upgradable to Ice Cream Sandwich. Unlike other tablets though, it comes with an SD card reader as well as mini USB and full-size USB 2.0 ports.
Toshiba has thrown in its own customisable user interface which it labels as holographic, with five customisable home screens and full access to Android market.
Other features include 16GB onboard storage, Bluetooth, a five megapixel camera, a front facing two megapixel one, a full size HDMI port and a battery that should power the tablet for up to 11 hours.
Rivals to this tablet include the Asus Eee Pad Transformer, the Acer Iconia A500, the Motorola XOOM and the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1.
