iPad users have to wait a little longer before being able to share with their life story with Facebook friends in the new visual profile feature known as Timeline.
Timeline is available for desktop and for mobile devices, including those running on iOS. However, iPad integration is currently missing from the app available on iTunes. iPad owners expected that Timeline would become available for them this month, however the release has been put back.
Sources speaking to 9to5Mac suggest that during final tests some bugs were discovered and at last minute the release was delayed. The Facebook update with Timeline integration for iPad is apparently targeted for the second half of January, though Apple's approval is also required which could take a few days.
iPhone and iPod owners already received their updated Facebook app, on December 18th. In addition to Timeline integration, the updated Facebook app offered improved photo management.
However, the iPad version seems to be worth the wait. "The large, Multi-Touch version of Timeline is described as very smooth and intuitive and a fusion of the web and iPhone/iPod touch versions," according to the 9to5Mac report.
The iPad version is perceived as having a significant importance, expected to convince most of the critics about the benefits of Facebook's new design.
