Google Revamps Home Page, Promotes Other Services

Google is currently testing its updated home page layout. The latest update is being considered as a biggest change to its home page till date. At present the new layout is under trial and incidentally the interface is quite similar to the Chrome layout.

The latest look was first declared last year and currently very limited number of users are getting to experience it. The very first thing which is noticeable in the new layout is that the black horizontal bar has disappeared and as a replacement Google has put in a grey coloured logo.

When the logo is clicked or even highlighted, a drop-down like menu with Google's alternative services comes up. In fact, there are further eight options which are available according to the users' preferences.

Spokesman for the web search giant said that the new look has been designed to provide an enhanced experience to the users. He said, "Constant revision and improvement is part of our overarching philosophy."

"If you compare the original Google home page to today's version, you will see that a makeover every so often can certainly be refreshing", he added reported BBC.
