The inaugural 2011 Original iPhone Film Festival is drawing to a close with the winner of the best overall clip to be announced at the MacWorld Expo on January 26th.
The competition was organized by Apple fans Matt Dessner and Corey Rogers and is meant for iDevice lovers to show their film-making skills. All the short films submitted in the competition had to be taken using an iPhone, iPod or iPad.
The 2011 edition of the Original iPhone Film Festival has four categories "Fiction", "Brand Film", "Non Fiction", and "Music Video"; the videos submitted had to be within a time limit of 4 minutes 30 seconds.
A group of high profile judges including Maroon 5, Lasse Hallstrom, Chuck McBride, Court Crandall and Regina Ebel have already selected the winners for each category, and now it's up to the public to decide who the Grand Prize winner is.
Besides glory of being considered the best mobile film maker of 2011, the winner and runners-up will get prizes such as an iPads 2 and other accessories. At this stage, all Apple fans are invited to watch the top three contenders in each category and to vote their favourites on the official OIFF website.
