Popular American on-demand media streaming company Netflix has arrived in the UK and Ireland, with no-limits to the film and TV programmes available to stream, at a cost of £5.99 a month.
Netflix can now be accessed from the internet on Apple and Android mobile phones and tablets, Mac and Windows computers, PS3, Wii, Xbox 360, LG Blu-ray players and smart TVs - from today onwards.
The service initially launches with a one-month free trial that's available to all, where Ireland-based subscribers will pay €6.99 then afterwards.
Netflix is offering films and TV programmes from All3Media, the BBC, CBS, Channel 4's 4oD, Disney UK & Ireland, ITV, Lionsgate UK, MGM, Miramax, Momentum Pictures, NBC Universal, Paramount, Sony Pictures Entertainment, Twentieth Century Fox and Viacom International Media Networks.
This now adds to the more than 20 million streaming members, in 47 countries and territories with unlimited access to tens of thousands of hours of Hollywood and international feature films, full seasons of new and classic TV programmes, global documentaries, independent cinema and a large range of kids' programming.
Netflix also offers films and programmes in hi-definition, with Dolby Digital Plus 5.1 and Facebook integration - making it easier for people to discover new films and programmes through friends.
