LogMein, a remote access tool company, has acquired Bold Software, a web chatting software company, for $16.5 million in cash. LogMein, confirming the acquisition, stated it is planning to utilise the Bold Software technology to expand the capacities of their products for present and future subscribers.
LogMein has a web based services portfolio focused on customer care organisations like external help desks, call centers and customer service teams.
Bold Software has BoldChat products that are premier live chat along with click-to-call customer service solutions. The product line is utilised by many financial services, retail, software, manufacturing and also telecommunications organisations, reports Market Watch.
According to reports, even after the acquisition announcement, BoldChat will remain available as a standalone offering, but will be integrated with other products of LogMein.
Michael Simon, CEO of LogMein said, "We believe this acquisition significantly expands the unique services we can offer to help facilitate customer engagement, while broadening the value to a wider group of customer service staff."
