Motorola to Make Fewer Phones in 2012 Says CEO

The CEO of Motorola, Sanjay Jha, disclosed that the company is planning to reduce production of their smartphones., Jha disclosed this in a round table discussion at the Consumer Electronics Show 2012 with reporters.

Jha stated that the company's focus will be on "better concentrated amount of resources" to produce better quality product, however, the amount will be less. Currently, there are many good ideas which have been recognised but they still lack a breakthrough so Motorola plans to put forward fewer ideas but, they will be pushing those ideas more.

Motorola has been facing tough times since past few years due to delayed product launches that have forced the company to launch multiple number of devices all at the same time, like Droid Bionic and Droid Razr, reported ZD Net.

The CEO said that many products mainly the tablets of the company had to face criticism for being overpriced. The reason behind such pricing according to him was that the carrier was trying to figure out the tablet market and also that they are reluctant in offering huge subsidies in their products.

Jha said, "We believe in the idea."
