Good news for zealous iPhone gamers: the classic fighting game Soul Calibur will be available on iOS environment starting from Thursday, January 19th.
Although Namco Bandai made the announcement in October there is still no word about the pricing. As we can figure out from information released so far, the game's version released for iPhone will be similar to the original Soul Calibur from the arcade game and on Dreamcast.
Considering the game had many series on gaming platforms, there should be an impressive number of fans waiting for the iPhone version of Soul Calibur, VideoGamer reports.
In addition, the official press release says that the iOS version will come with "19 fighters and a mode list that includes arcade battle, time attack, survival, extra survival, practice and museum modes."
Among these features, some - like time attack, survival and extra survival - will be compatible with Game Center's Leader Boards. Apparently, the game will be available as a Universal app but not all iDevice owners will be able to join the fun. Soul Calibur is supported only by the latest generation of each class of device, iPhone 4 / 4S, iPod Touch 4 and iPad 2.
