TomTom has inked a crucial deal with Samsung to extend the TomTom maps and location content to the Samsung Wave3 smartphone.
Under the agreement, TomTom will provide its global maps and premium location content to Samsung and Wave3 owners.
Content aimed at Wave3 owners includes extensive map coverage of about 200 countries across the world. It is worth mentioning that TomTom happens to be one of the most popular providers of location/navigation themed services and products.
Based in Amsterdam, the company currently employs a workforce of more than 3,500 employees, and has about 50 regional wings all over the world. The company not only helps users search and find places, it also plays a key role in providing businesses and governments stuff like digital maps, and traffic intelligence navigation software.
"Signing the deal with Samsung highlights TomTom's ability to deliver the map and enhanced content needed to enable the location based services for wireless users," said Charles Cautley, Managing Director at TomTom Automotive and Licensing, in a statement, as reported by Marketwatch.
"TomTom is excited to collaborate with the global leader in the smartphone market," he added.
