Last Tuesday, Asus launched the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update for the Asus Transformer Prime for users in the US and Taiwan. Even though the company released the update ahead of schedule, it seems the tablet displays a few problems while trying to get the update.
A number of Transformer Prime tablet users have complained that their device shows a serial number error that prevents the installation of the update, according to various posts submitted on XDA developers.
Asus' technical-marketing manger, Gary Key, posted that the company is aware of the issue and they are "close to a fix." This post was updated on Monday and again on Tuesday.
Key has suggested that users should do a factor reset and after that let the tablet stay connected to WiFi for about 15 minutes to sync the device with Asus' servers. In case the update does not come automatically, users can try the manual update. And if the update still shows the error even after all these efforts, the user can send a private message to Key along with the serial number of the tablet on the forum. The rest will be taken care of by Key and his team.
