With only a few weeks left before the start of Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, it looks as if retailers are clearing out stocks of existing smartphones ahead of the launch of new models.
Accordingly, Phones4U has cut the price of the Samsung Galaxy SII on a one year contract down to £36 per month on Vodafone and removed a £99 upfront cost; the offer is valid on black and white models.
For a grand total of £432, you get 300 minutes, 3000 texts and 500MB data allowance, plus if you go through TopCashBack, you could earn an additional £50.50 cashback, bringing the monthly contract cost to £31.80.
The Samsung Galaxy S II is still an immensely capable handset. It has a 4.3-inch WVGA capacitive touchscreen display, an eight megapixel camera with Flash, full HD video recording capabilities, a full HD front facing camera, a dual core Samsung Exynos chipset clocked at 1.2Ghz, 1GB RAM, 16GB onboard storage, Android 2.3 Gingerbread and a microSD card slot.
Given that the Samsung Galaxy S2 still costs £410 at Play.com as a SIM Free/Unbranded model, the Phones4U deal is a cracking one, especially as the cost is spread over one year.
