Price Of Sony PS Vita Gaming Console Drops To £196

The PS Vita, Sony's latest portable gaming platform, is due to be launched on the 22nd of February and Amazon has put the device on preorder for under £196 including delivery (that's 234.99 Euros on Amazon France).

Note that the 3G version of the console is also on sale for roughly £237, whereas Toys'r'us sells it for £260.

In addition, the PS Vita comes with a gift pack that includes PlayStation earphones, a discount on one PS Vita games, PS Vita T-Shirt, sunglasses, headphones, trainers and bag plus a PS Vita avatar on the PlayStation network.

The PS Vita replaces the PSP Go, and is one of the most powerful gaming platforms on the market which includes the PS3 and the Xbox 360.

Like next generation smartphones, it comes with a four core ARM-based Cortex A9 MPcore chipset and a 4-core SGX543MP4+ graphics processing unit.

In addition, there's a 5-inch OLED multi-touch capacitive touchscreen with a 960 × 544 pixel resolution, two cameras, a card reader, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, optional 3G, 512MB RAM and 128MB VRAM.

Uniquely, there's a rear touchpad that allows gamers to use their other fingers to interact with a game.
