The Windows Phone platform may receive the massively popular app Instagram before it debuts on Android.
Instagram has already made its mark on the global smartphone arena by winning iPhone's application of the year award. Despite its enormous success, the app is still maintaining quite a low profile with a relatively pretty small team and just one major update since its launch.
The makers of Instagram, however, have been pretty enthusiastic about launching an Android version of the app. CEO Kevin Systrom stated that an Android app happens to be the biggest priority for him and his team.
But then, according to the latest rumours, it won't be released for Android users just yet, but rather WP loyalists.
"A source recently left the impression that the Windows Phone team has possibly been working with the folks from Instagram," AUSTIN CARR of Fast Company noted in his report.
When asked about these on going rumours, the CEO stated, "Other than having pre-announced Android, we don't comment on roadmap stuff," via email to Fast Company. It will be interesting to see which OS gets the app first.
