In the frenzy that has overtaken the tech world in anticipation of the next generation iPad, expected to hit the market within the next month or two, case manufacturers have already started a race to get ahead of the competitors.
For instance, Chinee, one Chinese case manufacturer, has started production of special cases designed to fit the iPad 3, KnowYourMobile reports. The design teams from Chinee followed reports and leaks that surfaced from Apple's supply chain, as well as their own sources, and have decided to manufacture iPad cases 1 mm thicker than the current models.
The Chinese company actually names the product 'case for iPad 2S', assuming that Apple will follow the same naming strategy as it did with the iPhone series. The rumours on that matter suggest that Apple will upgrade the hardware of its upcoming next generation tablet, but will not deliver a completely redesigned product.
Another apparent difference in the iPad 3 compared to the current models which impacts on the case design, is related to the improved camera that iPad 3 will feature. As with the redesigned iPhone 4S camera, this time the back camera will also require a larger hole in the case.
It should be pointed out that a number of manufacturers produced thinner redesigned iPhone cases ahead of the iPhone 4S release, which turned out to be the same form as its predecessor.
