There is much speculation in tech circles that the BlackBerry PlayBook OS 2.0 will be made available by Research In Motion on February 17. However, RIM has not made any statements about the actual release date.
It has been a while now since the beta version of the OS platform, was aired to the developer community, reports Goodereader. Fans of the Playbook have not heard much about the update.
Recently, however, RIM gave awaiting fans a sneak peek into how the new OS is going to look like at the Consumer Electronic Show held in Las Vegas.
Apparently, almost everyone who had the opportunity to see the OS demo seemed quite pleased with all the enhancements the company has made. This reassured people that an update was still coming, and would hopefully be available soon.
The new version reportedly includes many previously unavailable features such as contacts, emails, calendars, on screen keyboards, movie rentals, Bluetooth connectivity for content sharing and so on.
