With the next edition of the Mobile World Congress looming, mobile manufacturers are rapidly clearing out stocks of mature products, and HTC is no exception.
Expansys is now selling the HTC Flyer 32GB 3G tablet for only £300, a 44 per cent discount off its original selling price of £540. The device was introduced at last year's MWC and like so many of its rivals, was never a massive crowd puller like the Apple iPad.
It was (and still is) a very capable tablet but was way too expensive back then. At 420g and with a small form factor, it is an attractive product, and its sleek aluminium unibody earned it some good comments from reviewers.
It comes with a single core Qualcomm Snapdragon SoC clocked at 1.5Ghz (still the fastest on the market), 1GB RAM, 32GB onboard storage with a microSD card slot (and the possibility of upping the capacity to 64GB), a 7-inch capacitive touchscreen display with a 1024x600 pixel resolution, a microUSB port, a five megapixel camera with AF and a front facing 1.3-megapixel front facing one, Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, a 4000mAh battery and a digitising stylus called a Magic Pen.
