The ARTiGO A2000 Barebone Storage Server from VIA would only need RAM, CF card and SATA drives to take form of a cheap and compact NAS.
The ARTiGo A2000 comes with a 1.5 GHz VIA C7-D processor and VX800 media system processor giving you a compact, secure, and power-efficient home storage PC. Through the use of VIA VX800 Unified Digital Media IGP chipset, the A2000 features the VIA Chrome9 HC3 DirectX 9 graphics engine and hardware video acceleration that would deliver smooth and compelling visual experience.
You can add a total of 2GB of RAM and two 3.5" SATA drives of up to 3TB each. A solid state drive may also be installed using the A2000's CompactFlash socket. The bundled VIA System Management Tool for windows allows for dedicated 24/7 monitoring. The silent ball-bearing fan on-board the A2000 ensures a noise free working with necessary cooling.
In terms of connectivity options, it comes with 3xUSB ports, 1 Ethernet port, 1 x VGA port, 1 x MIC/Line-in and 1 x Line-out. The barebone storage server may either be used as a NAS or a storage server or a backup system - the way you prefer.
LinITX is offering the VIA ARTiGO A2000 Barebone Storage Server for £66.
