Sony has added three new members to its massively popular Cyber Shot family line by introducing DSC-WX50, DSC-WX70 and DSC-TX200V.
The new point and shoots, as claimed by the Japanese tech heavyweight, are highly affordable and will be made available sometime during March this year. Sony also bragged that all of these forthcoming products will be flaunting 5x zoom lenses, as well as Exmor R CMOS sensors.
Out of the three new offerings, the WX50 and the WX70 are almost identical in terms of form-factor and functionalities. Both these products boast off a 25-125mm f/2.6-6.3 (35mm equivalent) Carl Zeiss zoom lens, in addition to a 16 megapixel image sensors.
It seems that Sony is trying to tactically outsmart its rivals as it has bundled its invention with innumerable benefits. Characteristics like automatic background defocus, optical image stabilization defocus, as well as a flash pairing mode and so on in all of the newly unveiled products are all evidences that the company is indeed planning to strengthen its foothold in the camera market with great enthusiasm.
With these new products comes to stores by the autumn of March , the total number of cameras launched by the company during Q1 2012 will climb all the way up to half a dozen.
