Skip to main content iOS App Launched For iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad

You can now view content from your favourite tech news website natively on your iOS device using our newly-launched app, aptly named "ITProPortal News".

At only 1MB, the application went live this morning and is compatible with all iOS devices from v4.2 onwards. Unfortunately, it is not optimised yet for the iPad's 1024x768 pixel resolution although it is Retina Display compliant.

The app will allow you to sync and store the latest news for offline reading and get a personalised feed which filters out content based on tags, plus you can share articles from within the app on Twitter, Facebook or by email.

Future versions of the app will be iPad optimised (even with the iPad 3's claimed five megapixel "retina" display) and sport faster article display. Apps for Android, Windows Phone, Blackberry and Symbian are also in the pipeline, although we can't give you any precise release date yet.

You can download the app via iTunes Preview here. Customer ratings as well as any suggestions/contructive criticisms are welcome, as usual.

Desire worked at ITProPortal right at the beginning and was instrumental in turning it into the leading publication we all know and love today. He then moved on to be the Editor of TechRadarPro - a position he still holds - and has recently been reunited with ITProPortal since Future Publishing's acquisition of Net Communities.
