Users looking to get hold of an iPad 2 tablet on the cheap may consider the refurbished Apple device that PC World is currently flogging online for £319 including free delivery.
You won't be able to buy it or reserve it instore, and the 16GB tablet has been "professionally checked, tested and repackaged" by Apple and comes with a 12-month warranty.
Apart from the fact that you won't be able to get a personalised engraving service for the tablet, there's not much missing from PC World's deal, which offers an £80 saving on (20 per cent off) the suggested retail price of a new iPad 2.
It is indeed cheaper than the likes of the Motorola XOOM (£330 at PC World) although it fails to offer a decent camera or expansion ports.
The iPad 2 comes with a dual core Apple A5 processor clocked at 1GHz, 512MB RAM, a 9.7-inch capacitive touchscreen display with an XGA resolution, Wi-Fi, a rear HD camera and a front facing VGA one plus up to 10 hours battery life.
Not much of an improvement compared to the original iPad except perhaps for the slimmer profile and the Smart Cover that attaches magnetically to the tablet.
