Are you counting the days until Tim Cook holds up the next Apple tablet and introduces it to the world? Well, apparently we may only have a few more weeks to wait.
AllThingsD reports that Apple will host an event in the first week of March, where it will showcase the much-awaited iPad 3.
AllThingsD, which is a member of the Wall Street Journal's digital network, quotes an anonymous source who says the company is planning a special event with all the usual Apple magic that surrounds a major product release.
"The event will be held in San Francisco, presumably at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, Apple's preferred location for big announcements like these," writes John Paczkowski.
However, the informed source couldn't apparently reveal for certain what the new Apple tablet will be called. It will most likely be the 'iPad 3', though some have suggested 'iPad 2S', similar to the pattern Apple has followed with its smartphones.
Also, we 're not given a date for its availability, though Apple would probably be true to its previous strategy, and the next generation iPad will become available from retailers a week or two after the announcement, in mid-March.
