Apple has been ranked as the top company in Harris Interactive's corporate images poll. The Cupertino based tech giant surged past its rival company Google to acquire this position. Ranking of Johnson & Johnson and Berkshire Hathaway have dropped significantly.
In the poll [PDF], Mountain View based Google came second this year as opposed to first position last year. In the third position Coca-Cola has been placed followed by Amazon.com and Kraft Foods.
According to Robert Fronk, vice president at Harris Interactive Apple's financial and iPhone 4S success worked in its favour and helped the company to earn highest points in the poll. In the poll Johnson & Johnson's ranking fell to seventh position for the first time. The world's second largest seller of health care products for the first time ranked below top two positions in this annual poll. In the Harris poll only eight companies managed to get "excellent" rating.
On the other hand, Berkshire Hathaway fell down to 24th position from the 4th position post the resignation of an executive in the month of March who was accused of breaking the insider trading rules of the firm. These accusations were made by Chairman Warren Buffett, reported Mercury News.
