A set of images apparently showing iPad 3 displays ready for shipment at a factory in China, appears to indicate Samsung is outsourcing production of iPad 3 high resolution displays.
The photos, allegedly leaked from a Radiant Opto-Electronics factory in Wujiang, China, which is a Samsung supplier, were published online by Chinese tech site App.wepost.me.
Despite the tight security in that plant, the set of twenty snapshots manages to offer us a rare glimpse into the iPad supply chain, although the picture quality is quite poor.
The inside sources told the media that the appearance of the iPad 3 is "basically the same" as the previous model. However, the good news from the supply chain source is that the iPad 3 will feature Retina Display quality screens and "dual LED display technology."
Looking closely at the leaked pictures appears to confirm some recent pics of iPad 3 casing indicating a larger (possibly 8MP) camera sensor; the Chinese publication also suggests it is a 5MP or even 8MP module. The boxed-up screens are marked with a Samsung logo, and sealed by Samsung tape.
To complete the trio of iPad 3 leaks that have been doing the rounds in the last few days, is an image showing an A5X CPU on an 'iPad 3' logic board - not the A6 processor we have been expecting.
