Twitter announced on Tuesday the launch of its updated applications for Apple's iOS powered devices as well as a handful of Android devices including Amazon's Kindle Fire and Barns & Noble's Nook tablets.
The company claims that the updated apps bring along them a wide range of new as well as enhanced features. With the updated app, the Android and iPhone users will be provided with a swipe shortcut which will allow them to view a profile and instantly re-tweet, reply or even share an entire tweet.
The updated apps have also been rewarded with a "fine friends" notification that warns users that they will be allowing Twitter servers the access to all their mobile contacts. Definitely this feature will help the company to avoid any potential controversies relating to users' privacy breach.
Apart from those, the iPhone users will be getting a handful of additional new new features too, e.g. the ability to copy, tweet or email any link by using the ‘share' option provided alongside a tweet. The iOS app has been already made available for download at the App Store.
The update has also optimised the Android app for being used in devices running on the Android Ice Cream Sandwich.
