iOS 5.1 Now Available To Download

Apple has made public that its latest version of the iDevice operating system has been released and is readily available to download, for Apple products running the existing version 5 platform.

ITProPortal has only just reported that the iOS 5.1 has gone gold, after three weeks of both internal testing, and qualification by carriers too - when Apple has announced at their generation iPad launch event, it is now ready to deploy.

The new mobile device operating system is set to bring in a faster ways of accessing camera functions, along with battery bug fixes and general enhancements to its supported products.

These are the iPhone 3GS, 4, 4S, iPad, iPad 2, iPod 3rd and 4th Generation Touch devices.

5.1 will arrive with the new iPad as well, which reportedly going to be called the iPad 3 or iPad HD - and not just the 'new iPad.'

Japanese language is now supported for Siri in iOS 5.1, where photos can be deleted from Photo Stream, the camera shortcut is now visible on the lock screen and camera face detection now highlights all detected faces.

Also included is a redesigned camera app for the iPad, with genius mixes and playlist access for iTunes Match subscribers, plus audio TV shows and movies are optimised for the iPad, with louder and more clearer sound.
