iPad 3 Expected to Come with a Revamped Smart Cover

Do you have room on your long list of iPad 3 rumours? Ready for a hot, new prediction? Well, this time we are not talking about the inner technical specs, but rather on the sleek iPad accessory that is equally famous - the Smart Cover.

According to a recent iLounge report, Apple has been working on a special case for the upcoming third generation iPad, inspired by the success of Smart Covers.

"Said to be similar to Incase's Magazine Jacket, this new case has a folding magnetized Smart Cover on the front, and a rear shell made from fiberglass covered with PU/bicast leather," suggested iLounge's Editor in Chief, Jeremy Horwitz quoting "a reliable" but unnamed source.

This little piece of information is more puzzling, if we start thinking about the millions of iPad owners who would want to get at least the sleek accessory for their device.

Techpp suggested that a perfect case for the iPad 3 should be fold-around cover, and should have an elastic strap.

For the moment, it is still unclear if Apple is ready to offer the presumed new Smart Cover in versions suitable for older devices. The gadget would be in high demand, particularly if we think that Apple has failed to release a case to protect the back of its delicate tablets.
