After we have been introduced to the new iPad, which is called by enthusiasts the "iPad 2 killer", Apple is aligning its strategy to keep customers interested in the second generation iPad.
The most obvious move was announced at the release event, Phil Schiller informed the audience the prices for the 16GB iPad 2 will drop.
Now, a Wi Fi enabled iPad will come with the price tag of £329.00 ($399) and a model with both Wi Fi and 3G will cost £429.00 ($529). And this is not all, there is some additional good news on the subject.
Apple has decided to cut prices for the refurbished models, too. For the users who are still keen on getting the second-generation iPad, Apple proposes on the special deal page of its on-line store some impressive price cuts for the refurbished iPad 2.
The discounts are between 10 and 20 per cent; a refurbished iPad 2 with Wi-Fi and 16GB comes in at £289.00.
The iPad 2 with Wi-Fi and 32GB is also £40.00 cheaper than a few days ago, which means it is now £359.00. Interestingly enough Apple has made the second-generation iPads less expensive than the original versions, at least when it comes to the refurbished devices.
