Capcom Asks Gamers To Snitch On Xbox DLC Hackers

Some Xbox hackers have managed to unlock as yet unreleased downloadable content for Street Fighter x Tekken and Capcom wants you to point them out from the crowd.

Taking to the official Capcom forums, the senior vice president of strategic planning, Christian Svensson, called the actions of hackers "ballsy" since when online, hacked Xbox consoles can be detected and permanently banned from the service.

"In any event, we already have opened channels of communication with Microsoft on these issues Friday night," he continued. "If you can capture screens or video of this in action (as some have already) we're working on bans for boxes and accounts with Microsoft for haxxors."

Evidently not believing that snitches get stitches, Capcom is asking the player base to let them know if someone is using one of the unreleased DLC characters. The thread where people could post screenshots however has now closed. No doubt you can still email them though, if you really need to.

The reason this was all possible is because Capcom included the DLC on the disc. This lets gamers play against those that have paid for it without having done so themselves. Unfortunately for Capcom, it also allows hackers to break their way in and get using it before the official release date.
