iPad 2 Rival Tablet : Archos 80 G9 Tablet Down To £218

Archos has dropped the price of its G9 80 tablet to £217.50, a nine percent drop of its RRP of £240. The tablet is available from Amazon at that price and comes with free delivery.

The tablet is part of the new range from the French manufacturer (its third) and comes with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. It is also powered by a dual core TI OMAP4460 processor clocked at 1.5GHz with 1GB RAM, 16GB onboard storage with a microSD card slot and an 8-inch touchscreen display with a 1,024 by 768 pixels display, the same as the iPad 2.

It comes with full access to Google's Android Play (formerly known as the Android Market), support for Flash 10.3, a kickstand, a Li-Ion battery that can power the tablet for 36 hours when playing music and seven hours when playing video, Bluetooth 2.1, WiFi, a front facing camera, GPS, a microUSB port and HDMI out.

There's also a version which comes with a 250GB hard disk drive and you can always stick in a proprietary 3G USB modem (for less than £50) to convert the tablet into a fully connected tablet out and about can always use that modem in another Mac or PC computer.
