Samsung Nexus S Will Be Getting Ice Cream Sandwich, After All

According to recent rumours that are flying around in the Android community, Samsung Nexus S will get support for Ice Cream Sandwich.

The event is expected to happen in just a matter of weeks. Engadget's Myriam Joire quoting a trusted source says that "and that an official Android 4.0 update for last year's Nexus is expected to drop in the next few weeks."

The update is likely to include both the Nexus models, S and 4G S. While this is good news for Samsung Nexus S owners, we should point out that the news should be taken with a grain of salt.

Last December, users were pretty sure that the Ice Cream Sandwich would include Nexus S, but Google community manager Paul Wilcox explained that "Google pausing the update" - in certain areas and for certain users, in order to monitor feedback.

The Ice Cream Sandwich roll-out was halted for a while, and Google was reluctant to give out too many details, to users' queries. At the time, there were rumours about devices crashing on the latest version of Android.

However, the problems might be solved by now, but until we hear an official announcement we should be cautious.
