New iPad Has Already Been Jailbroken

The developers from the jailbreak community are quite active and they see every Apple release as a challenge. When it comes to the third generation iPad, apparently, Stefan Essser has won the race.

The hacker also known as i0n1c has demonstrated in a video, recently posted on YouTube, an untethered jailbreak on his third generation iPad running on iOS 5.1.

Stefan Esser, a German security researcher, had no problems in developing a new treat for the jailbreak community. He also loved to build up the anticipation from his Twitter account, by teasing the fans with scarce information relating to the jailbreak - before the actual release, yesterday.

This time, the developers who work on jailbreak exploits have been much faster, than with the previous Apple tablet.

The first true solution for the iPad2 was released only four months ago, but this experience has proved invaluable for the new iPad.

The iPhone Dev-Team "that the method used to jailbreak the iPad2 4 months ago (before corona) still works even in 5.1. That means we'll at least be able to get our foot in the door to get the required kernel dumps on the iPad3. That's an important step, but by no means is it the end of the story."
