The grainy image of what looks like a new Motorola smartphone called the Droid Fighter sitting next to the Motorola RAZR Maxx has surfaced on a Chinese website called MFUN.com.
The device is said to have a 4.6-inch 1,280 by 720 pixels capacitive display with a 3300mAh battery, the highest on a smartphone (twice the average on traditional handsets).
The leaked picture showed that the device could be made available on Verizon Wireless in the US and doesn't seem to have any physical button on the front (but there is a front facing camera).
All in all, it looks like a magnified version of the RAZR Maxx with the same bezel size Expect it therefore to come with an eight megapixel camera, a dual core TI OMAP processor clocked at 1.2GHz, 1GB RAM, 8GB onboard storage, a microSD card slot, microUSB, microHDMI and Android Ice Cram Sandwich.
The list of competitors to this giant include all 720p smartphones like the Samsung Galaxy Nexus, the HTC One X, the Sony Xperia S, the Huawei Ascend P1s, the LG Optimus 4X HD and the Samsung Galaxy S3.
No details as to whether the phone will be released in the UK and if yes at what price. Expect the phone to appear at CTIA in the US on the 7th of May.
