Photography enthusiasts adopted Apple's smartphone as the preferred tool for capturing images, according to the latest Flickr statistics.
The iPhone 4 managed to surpass the most reputable cameras on the market, such as the Canon EOS 5D Mark II, as well as the Nikon D90, Canon EOS REBEL T2i, and Canon EOS 7D.
Barclays analyst, Ben A. Reitzes wasted no time in observing in a note to investors that the iPhones have become "the digital camera of choice for consumers and enthusiasts." He also pointed out that the iPhone 4 was the most popular camera among Flickr's users.
However, when it comes down to just smartphones and their cameras, Apple really has no competition as iPhones dominate the hierarchy.
The top five smartphone cameras used by Flickr subscribers are the iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPhone 3G, and iPhone 3GS and HTC EVO 4G. "This usability helps warrant a premium for the product and creates stickiness with software that connects consumers with other Apple products," pointed out Ben A. Reitzes.
If Apple needed more recognition for its products dedicated to photographers, here comes the latest announcement about iPhoto software that sold 1 million copies in less than 10 days.
