Apple's subsidiary, FileMaker has announced the release of the FileMaker 12 software line. The new version allows iOS users to create "stunning custom database apps" due to the improved design features.
According to the company's official announcement, FileMaker Pro 12, available for iPad, iPhone, Windows, Mac and the web, delivers new themes and Starter Solutions, desktop design tools and "superior file management for today's media-intensive applications."
The FileMaker Go version, for iPhone (opens in new tab) and iPad (opens in new tab), is available for free in iTunes. Both versions come with multitasking support, improved media integration, export data in multiple formats and enhanced container fields.
In order to use the Go versions, users need to access first FileMaker Pro 12. Ryan Rosenberg, vice president, marketing and services at FileMaker, detailed the motivation that drove his company to develop the new line of the software.
"Everyone wants a great database, but not everyone is a great designer. Let FileMaker 12 handle the design and you'll create dazzling databases that are incredibly easy to use, on iPad, iPhone, desktop and the web," he said.
Users are able to convert their older databases in order to access the new features of FileMaker 12 lineup.
