LG D1L To Threaten The iPhone 5

According to report at South Korea's DDaily, Android fans will soon see a few premium smartphones competing for the top spot.

LG Electronics plans to release a premium device that could prove to be a worthy challenger to iPhone 5, as well as to Samsung Galaxy S3.

Under the moniker "D1L", sources suggest that LG is developing a 4.7in screen based smartphone, powered by a 1.5GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4 processor. The smartphone is believed to have a LCD screen with a resolution of 1,280 x 720 pixels, running the Android ‘Ice Cream Sandwich' OS - right out of the box. In addition, the phone will come with support for LTE and 3G.

LG D1L, just as with the Samsung Galaxy S3 and iPhone 5, is still in pre-production. Therefore, don't be surprised if at the release we'll see a stunning hot smartphone.

The source was reluctant to give any additional information. If the rumours are correct, we might see the mysterious LG smartphone sometime next month. LG has proved to be a strong competitor in the smartphone field.

Now, what LG need is a very powerful smartphone, such as the Galaxy S II is for Samsung or the iPhone is for Apple - then we will see some sparks in the smartphone battle.
