Xbox 360 receiving Netflix Update With Facebook Integration and More

Netflix issued a large update for Xbox 360 consoles yesterday, one that comes with new features and enhancements. The download is already available and Xbox LIVE Gold members should receive it right away.

Netflix officials report that this update comes with a new Skip Forward/Skip Back function, which allows users to quickly move through movies and TV episodes, as well as a zoom feature that lets you enlarge content up to full screen, better colour contrast and more vivid colours.

Microsoft has also integrated Facebook sharing with this upgrade, allowing those who synced their social media account to share content and see what their friends shared on Netflix. Unfortunately, this advantage is only available for Canada, Latin America, Ireland and UK, with the United States being left in the dark for the moment.

This integration also works over the cloud, allowing those who visit their friends and use other Xbox 360 consoles to sign in with their own LIVE credentials and share content just like at home.

The update is available for all Xbox LIVE Gold members that also purchased a Netflix unlimited streaming membership. This will be downloaded the next time Netflix is opened and for those who don't have it at the moment, the application can be installed from the LIVE apps Marketplace.
