iTunes 11 Will Have iOS 6 Support, Enhanced iCloud Integration

The guys over at 9to5 Mac managed to take a sneak peek into Apple's plans for the future version of iTunes and revealed some interesting information.

Quoting unnamed sources, the report suggests that iTunes 11 is meant to be compatible with the unreleased iOS 6 and with the future generations of iDevices.

Sources with inside knowledge of the situation suggest that iTunes 11 was in the works even before Apple released the 10.6 version. The upcoming iTunes upgrade will focus on significant changes, rather than on design revamping.

The most important feature of iTunes 11 is better iCloud integration. The leaked screenshots from the new iTunes version reveal a dedicated iCloud settings panel, which will give users the option to control iCloud features via a centralized location.

Among the options delivered by the iCloud integration are iTunes Match, iTunes in the Cloud and iCloud iOS device backups.

Apple also plans to improve the content search within iTunes. Reports on this matter suggest (opens in new tab) that Apple might release a new iTunes Store in the second half of this year, with enhanced user interface but also with several new features for the US users.
