The Chinese company Huawei impressed the visitors at this year's edition of Mobile World Congress when it announced the "world's fastest smartphone." The Huawei's Ascend D quad is powered by the company's own K3V2 processor, clocked at 1.2/1.5GHz.
Ascend D comes with Ice Cream Sandwich right out of the box. The smartphone is meant to challenge the best devices on the smartphone market, such as Apple's iPhone and the yet to be released Samsung Galaxy S III.
When Poket-lint reporters asked a Huawei representative if the British customers would be able to get their hands on the uber fast device, the Chinese official confirmed that they would.
However, there is no information about the prices or the carriers that would be able to include Huawei's flagship smartphone in their offer.
Ascend D quad is expected to be released on the UK market "later this year," according to the Pocket-lint report.
Analysts expect the smartphone to hit the shelves in July. Among the Ascend D's specifications are the 8 MP camera which comes with autofocus, dual-LED flash and geotagging features. The smartphone also has sensors for accelerometer, gyro, proximity and compass support.
So far, there are two colours confirmed: metallic black and ceramic white.
