A slide describing the new range of Samsung Smart TV family (ranging from the E450 to the E8000) mentioned a new Smart View application as well as two new tablets, the Espresso 10 and the Espresso 7, with the first one set to be released by June 2012 with Android Ice Cream Sandwich and the latter at a later undetermined date.
The compatibility list also included the Samsung Galaxy S3, the S2 and the Galaxy Note 5.3 and 10.1. Oddly, no mention of the Galaxy Tab family (7.7, 7 Plus, 7 v2.0, 8.9, 10.1 and 10.1 v2.0).
We were left disappointed by Samsung's announcements at Mobile World Congress but an invite that landed in our inbox yesterday about a Samsung Unpacked event to be held on the 3rd of May in London gave us some hope.
The event mentions the "next galaxy" which is likely to be the Galaxy family rather than only one item. Given that the new iPad now has a retina display and both Acer and Asus have released tablets with full HD resolution screens as well as quad core processors, one would expect the Korean chaebol to unleash an updated version of its Galaxy Tab 10.1 family soner rather than later.
