Samsung Galaxy S3 To Deliver "Superlative" Performance

Expect the Samsung Galaxy S3 to come with a quad core processor, at least as far as the global version of the smartphone is concerned, and expect "superlative benchmark performance" according to a report published by the Verge.

According to one of their sources, the device will feature a quad core processor although it was not confirmed which processor that would be. Although it is highly likely that it will be the Exynos 4412 CPU which is clocked at 1.5GHz rather than a dual core Cortex A15 part.

The source also pointed to the fact that there might be regional variants in order to support features required by the mobile phone operators.

It is therefore entirely possible that the S3 will have the Nvidia Tegra 3 at launch or the Qualcomm Snapdragon depending on where the handset is sold.

The S3 is expected to be launched on the 3rd of May 2012 at a special event in London. The launch will be followed by a massive marketing push, hailing the S3 as the officially endorsed London 2012 Olympic smartphone. It is also very likely that Samsung will launch a number of apps based around the London Games.
