After months of speculations about the release of Huawei's top model smartphone, the company has put a stop to the rumours by issuing a press release (opens in new tab).
Huawei Ascend P1 is ready for the global roll out - and that the first market to greet the new smartphone will be China, at the end of this month. Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Australia will follow in May.
Latin America will receive the Huawei flagship smartphone sometime in June, and European retailers and carriers will be able to distribute the phone later this summer. If we look at the specifications sheet, we can find plenty of reasons to see that the Ascend P1 will perform well on the market.
The smartphone features a dual-core 1.5GHz TI OMAP 4460 Cortext-A9 processor, a 4.3 inch super AMOLED display with Gorilla Glass, and an 8MP camera. Ascend P1 will also feature the Android Ice Cream Sandwich.
The "sexy design" is part of Ascend's appeal and this includes a super slender body. The phone measures 7.69mm thin and 64.8mm long, providing a very comfortable grip, reports Android Central.
"The global availability of the Ascend P1 (...) represents a significant milestone for Huawei Device. We are sending strong signals of our intention to transform into a consumer-facing brand and extend our market leadership globally by strengthening our range of flagship products," stated Richard Yu, Chairman of Huawei Device.
