3M Releases New Security Screen Filters For Apple Devices

New releases from 3M can reassure Mac users that their on screen information is safe from prying eyes.

3M has introduced a new range of custom cut screen protectors for Apple devices. The 3M privacy filters are designed to protect information displayed on the user's screen from sideline spyers. The filters designed especially for Apple devices will be available in either black or gold for MacBook Pro notebooks, and in black for the 27 inch iMac. MacBook Air devices are now catered for, with an option of either black or gold filters for the 11 and 13 inch notebooks.

The filters allow users to work in public spaces without the added concern of who may be spying on the display. Users don't have to compromise on clarity, whilst being safe in the knowledge that to anyone on the side, the screen is blacked out.

3M has also announced upgrades to the screen protection range that safeguards both iPhone and iPad displays.

"In a recent survey of the IT Security industry, mobile devices were recognised as the second biggest security concern for information security professionals, behind only applications vulnerabilities," explained Rob Green, 3M's Mobile Interactive Solutions Marketing Executive. "3M has been active in raising awareness of the issue with the UK government…and security policies are now being tightened."
