The first Lumia 900 smartphones will land in the UK later than expected (although Nokia never confirmed any official release other than saying that it will happen in Q2 2012).
According to some UK retailers, the smartphone was expected to come to the UK on the 27th of April but Nokia now expects the stock shortage to last until mid May.
A spokesperson for Nokia told V3 that "The overwhelming demand for the Lumia 900 in the US with AT&T has, unfortunately, had a small knock-on effect on product availability in the UK, [....] The Lumia 900 is now expected to be available from Phones4U around the 14th May."
The phone - which overtakes the Lumia 800 as the company's top of the range handset - is essentially a bigger version of the latter and should be exclusively available from Phones 4U.
It was released exclusively in the US on AT&T and presented ealier this year at CES in Las Vegas. Expect the price of the Lumia 800 to fall significantly when the Lumia 900 becomes widely available.
But the sweet spot could actually be way lower. The next model down the pecking order, the Lumia 710, can be had for around £130, a third of the price of the Lumia 800.
