In the last two months, the number of Facebook users being sent to mobile apps via the social networking site increased by an incredible 100 million.
Jonathan Matus announced the figures in the social networking giant's blog on Tuesday. He says "features like Single Sign On and Open Graph increase installs, usage, and re-engagement for mobile apps, regardless of whether they are built for iOS, Android or the mobile web."
Facebook is truly mobile-friendly, with seven out of the ten top grossing iOS apps, and six apps in the top ten grossing Android apps all integrated with the social networking service.
Matus then highlights three apps that are integrated with Facebook: BranchOut, Viddy and Flixster.
BranchOut has grown impressively in the 12 weeks since releasing its Facebook integrated app. In this time, BranchOut grew from "1 million monthly active users to over 12.5 million monthly active users". 18 million people visited BranchOut from Facebook in the last 28 days.
Viddy is an iOS video app that lets users capture, edit and share videos on their iPhones. After integrating with Facebook, Viddy's community rose to over 16 million registered users.
Flixster was already an established source for movie reviews before integrating with Facebook. According to Mathus, "Flixster has grown the number of visitors from Facebook 10x to over 480,000 daily in the past 4 weeks".
