The MediaPad, made by Huawei, can now be run on Android's latest OS, Ice Cream Sandwich.
The update is now available to download and will give users a whole new lease of life for their MediaPad. Consumers will benefit from a new and much improved camera app, an updated gallery app, a new people app, the ability to dismiss apps from the recently used menu, as well as a few performance edits. The update will replace the current OS, Android 3.2 Honeycomb.
The update is a whopping 330MB and so isn't available to download over the air. Users will need to plug their device into their computer and update to Ice Cream Sandwich through the Huawei Download Center.
The Huawei MediaPad features a 1.2GHz Dual Core processor and a 7in LCD display. The camera boasts 5 megapixels and the front facing camera, 1.3 megapixels. Users can expand the memory capacity up to 32GB via a micro SD.
Acer has also recently released the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update for its Iconia Tab A500. Users of this tablet have to download the Iconia Tab Update Enhancement app from Google Play to update to ICS. The app will automatically receive the update and then install it on the tablet.
